Signs For Those Who Are Far Away
An artist-in-residence project made at the printing studio of MGLC Ljubljana in the framework of the EU project In From the Margins.

Starting on 1.11.2022, I invited cca. 30 friends who live far away to pose for a portrait via Zoom, Google Meet, WhatsApp, Viber. All these poses replicated the same position. The sessions were projected on a wall, and coal and acrylic-based drawings were produced live during the lenght of the pose. Editions of prints on paper and mirror were done upon a selection of works who succeed in being acceptable drawings and good portraits at the same time. The mirrors, at the end, are exhibited as supports and sources of light projections and multi-layered exercises on reflection.
Some additional works (drawings, paintings, texts, videos) are in process of being edited with futures exhibitions and publications in mind.

This project was done thanks to the help, support, company, inspiration and participation of many persons, including the whole staff of MGLC, Tatiana Kocmur, Simon Svetlik, Borut Savski, Henrike von Dewitz, Vida Vojić, Maayan Liebman Sharon, Eyal Bromberg, Itamar Galina and Yulia Mejetskaya.

The 22 friends of mine who posed for me, using different platforms and strategies, but replicating the same position, are: Elena Téliz, Augusto Gadea, Ruth Ferrari, Diana Aisenberg, Gabriel Yeannoteguy, Guido Herzovich, Guillermo Stoll, Mariana Figueroa, Cristian Espinosa, Martín Verges, Verena Thissen, Horacio Cavallo, Nenad Vujić, Shqipe Mehmeti, Dado, Eugenia González, Martín Barea Mattos, Ximena Espeche, Juan Martín López, Ana Ivanovska, Franciska Topolovec and Pilar Moreno.

The poses were staged in Belgrade, Bologna, Buenos Aires, México DF, Montevideo, Sierras de Rocha, Skopje, Stockolm, Valparaíso and Zagreb between 5.11 and 22.11.2022
