Razstava pouličnih portretov, skupni projekt Francisca Tomsicha in Kateryne Burlina
Street portraits exhibition, a joint project of Francisco Tomsich and Kateryna Burlina
Art Kavarna Odeon, Izola, Spring 2022
Razstava pouličnih portretov zajema nabor spretnih in hitrih tehnik portretiranja, ki jih izkušena slikarja nizata skozi srečanja na izolskih ulicah. S svojstvenim in prepoznavnim slogom se drug drugemu postavljata ob bok, z istim motivom, a skozi druge oči in z drugače urjeno in izkušeno roko. Umetnika izvirata iz zelo različnih držav in kultur.
This exhibition of street portraits displays a series of skillful and fast portraiture techniques that two experienced painters have developed through their meetings on the streets of Izola. Each of them faces the same motif with a distinctive and recognizable style, through a different eye and differently trained and experienced hand. These artists were risen in two very different countries and come from distinct cultures, but both of them are currently living and creating in Izola. Last August, they decided to start meeting to make portraits on the streets, without any utilitarian backgrounds and for their own sake. The project is devoted to a fascination with the concept of meeting, face to face, passers-by, friends or strangers, and capture the moment of the encounter, the flow of thought and its simultaneous transience. Here, they introduce to us some life moments of random persons caught by chance in some of those encounters.
