The Self-portrait machine

The self-portrait machine. Installation: woodcut plate, paper, tables, ink, pigments, 2008. An open woodcut production and printing workshop developed in the framework of the association of artists Transposed Study for a Common Portrait in an abandoned bar in Montevideo becomes a performative space where artists and guests experiment with non-conventional techniques and supports. The self-portrait machine works as an open-to-interaction-and-manipulation device: a stamp, a plate, an object which produces its own replicas and it’s intervened by the visitors.
