I began working with chalk on black and white boards, found wood and canvas in 2004, and produced since then until 2007 a large group of pieces, most of them portrais, self-portraits and studies on Art and Literature icons like Picasso, Álvaro Figuredo, Beuys or Franz Kafka. Some of these chalk-works are fixed, some not, some are keeped on glass boxes, some of them dissapeared long time ago, some of these processes are recorded, some not. There are groups of works, like the The painter and the wood series, that can be read as the only documents of a short and private performance.
In December 2006 three of these works were awarded in the 52o Visual Arts National Prize, and exhibited in Punta del Este and Montevideo (Museo Nacional de Artes Visuales) in 2007. They are studies on the image of three uruguayan painters: Joaquín Torres García (1874-1949), Carlos Federico Sáez (1878-1901) and Juan Manuel Blanes (1830-1901).
